A foreward thinking hospital group optimizes its water usage

OBJECTIVE

Built in 1992, the Bank of America Corporate Center in Charlotte North Carolina is the tallest building in Charlotte (871 feet and 6o floors). In its continued evolution, RethinkH2o resources were engaged in 2010 to develop an innovative water reuse system that combines several grey water streams including industrial blow down to supplement evaporative cooling needs. While not as big as the RethinkH2o system across town at the Duke Energy Center, it uses many of the same principles to save millions of gallons of water annually. This system has also been central in this facility’s LEED stays over the years, helping the complex achieve higher levels of certification with its innovative water reuse.
